On day 2, we started out with another food hunt in the late morning. We
walked around Taipei main station and the book street. The weather in
Taipei seems gloomy and couldn't decide whether it is to rain or not,
and it was hotter than what I expected. I was ready to embrace the
autumn but instead reminiscence of a summer greeted me.
We had beef noodles for brunch. This being our first time in Taiwan
ordering noodles. We didn't know that Noodle in beef soup, well that's
what it just is(!), with no beef at all. So we had to order some beef
and that was pretty funny.
Walked around the Taipei main station area and book street. My impression? Food everywhere. Book street lived up to its name. Often when we ventured into a bookstore, we were surprised to find it's bigger in the inside and span across different levels!
I blew some money in a stationary store and found a little TV in there...
Our afternoon was spent in Xi men ding, the most happening place for Taipei Youths. It's the shopping and movie theatres belt all in the same breath. Some food that you must try here, which is the Ah Zhong vermicelli. It didn't look that appetising but it scored with all of us.
My favourite photo that I have taken during this entire trip.
