First time car owner
We just placed our order for a new car today. A Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 GLX in cod silver colour that will arrive in end Jan 07. Actually owning a car cost more than cabbing to and fro work everyday, but it's really for the convenience, to satisfy hubb's need for a man toy, and not to mention, I will not listen his mumblejumbles everyday... PLUS I will be ferryed around. Cars are expensive here in Singapore, as we were all slapped a 120% levy for all new cars. The reason we got this car was from friends' recommendation and price has dipped a fair bit. Hubb's colleague bought the sports version of this car a year ago and paid about 1/4 more than us.
It's a BIG step for us. :S I still can't believe that we are now a fierst time car owner. Gotta tighten our belts for a loooooooooong time.

Coolio! Yeah, owning a car is more costly than taking public transport.
My hubby is not really into cars though we have a few cars with two families combined. My fav is still the little red Honda Jazz that my family bought. Its really fuel efficient and most suitable for small families - esp with the fuel prices on the upside. One thing tho - the suspension is kinda stiff.
